To provide security, perform reconnaissance and surveillance in support of division operations and to engage in offensive, defensive, delaying and economy of force operations as required.
Capabilities
- Conduct detailed ground reconnaissance and surveillance within and to the front, flanks and rear of the division
- Conduct security and screening operations.
- Engage in offensive, defensive or delaying operations as required.
- Conduct independent operation when properly reinforced.
- Assist in the movement control of divisional and nondivisional units within and through the division's area of operations.
- Assist in countermobility preparation of the main battle area in support of the division commander's scheme of maneuver.
